I’ll start off with this Japanese actress, Ishihara Satomi. One of the most prominent actresses in Japan, Satomi has so many dramaseries under her belt. Not to mention that most of these series, sheplayed the leading role. The most memorable roles of Satomi for this writer are Aoi Misora in Nurse Aoi and Uzaki Aiko in her recent drama series, Hanayome to Papa. However, some fans of this idol regarded her role as Haruka Koga in H2-Kimi to itahibi as her most memorable (check out Ishihara Satomi’s thread in jdorama.com). She also appeared in Kimi Wa Pettowhere she played ‘just a small role’, however, she’s pretty good aswell. She also won in 8th Nikkan Sports Drama Awards for BestSupporting Actress category in her performance in Water Boys 2 and a Newcomer Prize for My Grandpa, in 16th Nikkan Sports Drama Grand Prix. I find Satomi very interesting. Actually, I’m very fascinated with girl idol that has a very ordinary face, but with ’something’ that makes you turn to look around for the second time….I call it charm. And Ishihara Satomi has loads of it, coupled it with superb acting abilities and she sets a mark on her own. Aoi Miyazakiis currently my favorite Japanese actress. At the young age of 22,she’s finally married with fellow actor Takaoka Sousuke, whom she’dbeen dating for almost seven years. I first got to know Aoi for herrole in the smash hit movie, NANA, where she played the one of the two Nana; she is Komatsu Nana, the girly and bubbly. Aside from bubbly roles, Aoi is also intodramatic roles. Actually she has more movies than drama series (justcheck out her filmography). I remembered seeing her in the movie Virgin Snowtogether with Korean actor, Lee Jun Ki. She was great! The mostfavorite thing in Aoi is her infectious smile! I always find myselfsmiling every time I see Aoi Miyazaki smiling. It seems like her smilehas something that made anyone’s day brightened up. She’s good inacting weird, childish, mature, name it, Aoi Miyazaki can do that withflying colors. Anyway, her picture above was taken from her movie Heavenly Forest. Aoi Miyazaki also hailed in 50th Television Drama Academy Awards in Best Actress category for Junjo Kirari, last 2006. Aragaki Yui or fondly called by her fans as Gakki,is one of the most well-loved Japanese personality under twenty. Iactually find Gakki as one of the Japanese girls that you really can’thelp but to admire. I find her very lovable because they say that, despite of a very outrageous image that she portrays as an actress, she’s actually a shy person in real life. She also has a veryinteresting fashion sense and a logical thinking that earned her manyfans (after all, I don’t like celebrities that are too pa-cute and playing soo innocent in front of the camera, ugh). The most memorable for me is her role in TBS Dragon Zakura as Yoshino Kousaka. I really like her fashion statement there! I’ve also seen the MV of her new single, Heavenly Days which was used for her movie Koizora. In Oricon, she tied with Sawajiri Erika for the Best Face category. It’snot surprising, after all, Gakki started out as a model in a juniorfashion magazine, Nicola and eventually become Nicola Grand Prix Winner. Cute and bubbly, Inoue Maomakes me remind of a cute doll that you would always love to see and tohave. Though I am not really into super cute girls, Mao-chan’s actingmade me admire her. She have proven to me that she’s not just somepretty face; she also got a lot of talents to show off. The mostmemorable role would be, of course, Makino Tsukushi in Hana Yori Dangoseries. Playing as the kind and tomboyish Tsukushi, Mao-chan reallycarry it on as if she’s really the character. At first, I was hesitantof her and Matsumoto Jun (plays Doumyouji Tsukasa, a rich arrogant guy) for the roles that gave their Taiwanese counterparts, Yan Cheng Xu and Da S (played the roles Dao Ming Shi and Shan Cai, respectively in Meteor Garden)fame that shoot the roof. But, Mao-chan and also Matsujun have provenme otherwise and that made this cute girl to become one of my mostrespected actresses on her own right. In the 47th Television DramaAcademy Awards, Mao-chan won as Best Actress for Hana Yori Dango 1 and another Best Actress from 10th Nikkan Sports Drama Grand Prix for Hana Yori Dango 2.
