It won't stop, Erika and the tabloids
"I am tired toread about her", that's how many people will probably react these dayswhen reading a headline that contains Sawajiri Erika. There is no otherwoman that appears so often in tabloids like her. From shockinginterviews to flashing breasts, there is no rumor that hasn't been toldyet. Most of these stories are far away from the truth, but it'sinteresting how creative some tabloids are.

The Japanese Paris Hilton?
"Deaddrunk, flashing breasts", was the striking headline of "Tokyo Sports"on October 02 that "Weekly Asahi" picks up again. According to them,Erika and 4 men of her staff has been visiting a gay bar in Shinjuku. She has been completely drunk already. Erika had a music player withher and listened to very loud music. The story becomes even moreinteresting now. They went to a club and Erika suddenly started todance. It was a very wild dance, so wild that her dress couldn't holdher breasts anymore. Everyone in the club was able to see her chest, orso they say.
You can believe that Asahi has been as surprisedabout this story as you, commenting on it that "She is like theJapanese Paris Hilton!". However, it is hard to believe that there isany truth in this story, but it's amazing how they were able todescribe everything in such a detailed way.
New details about aninterview "SPA!" made with Erika has also been revealed in the newestissue of Asahi's "FLASH" magazine. Erika has been more than 40minutestoo late for the interview and instead of apologizing, she only greetedher manager in the back with "Good Morning!". The interviewer then toldErika that he actually is a big fan of her, but Erika reacted in a verycold and bored way. Also, during the whole interview she gave orders toher manager like "It's too hot!" or "Bring me a water!".
"She doesn't deserve to get smashed!" (translation note-- or: "it would be regrettable, if...")
Thanksto the harsh media, Erika's clumsiness gets in the news over and overagain. The opening event of her movie "Closed Note" could be seen onevery news or entertainment show long after the actual incident.
Kansaitelevision stations faced similar problems when trying to interviewErika. According to a report of comedian Tamura Kenji in "Daily Sports"on October 08, Erika is supposed to have said something like "So,that's how rural announcers are like?" to TV Asahi's Kita Yukari in avery rude way. Kita has been terrified by Erika's disrespect andarrogance. On another interview, also in Kansai area, it is said thatErika left an interview for more than 1 hour, bursting into tears. (translation note: It could also be that Erika made the female interview leave and cry for one hour.)
Howmany of these stories are actually true? J-CAST again tried to get intouch with "Stardust Promotion", but they keep getting "The person incharge is currently not available.", whenever they try to get anofficial statement.
By the way, concerning the gay bar revolt,Asahi Entertainment denied the whole story, "Nothing like thishappened. Especially the part about the gay bar and the drinking, nothing of it is true.". All facts have been denied.
In thesurvey of "FLASH" magazine, 67,2% dislike or even hate Erika, whileonly 32,8% like her. However, from experts and observers of theentertainment industry you are more likely to hear supportive comments. An idol critic from the same magazine says: "She sure is cheeky, oftenlate and shows bad manners during speeches or interviews, but the worldof show business would be boring without her.". Also outing himself asa fan of Erika, Yoshida Hidehiko (fighter) comments: "What an amount ofgossip <laughs>. She is like a wild animal (note: or simply "energetic") and has my full support. It would be regrettable if she got smashed already."
I wonder whether Erika's response to all these rumors would be "Betsu ni..." (Not really...) as well?
