Erika at Pusan Internation Film Festival, or not?
It remains unclear whether Erika will attend the 12th Pusan International Film Festival or not.
Erika had been scheduled to take part in the event as the lead actress of "Closed Note", but recent events made it unclear whether she will even appear at the festival at all. "We have to consider her physical condition and are waiting for her management's judgment", a person from Toho explains.
PIFF is going to start on the 4th and Erika was supposed to appear on the red carpet on that day, followed by a stage greeting event on the 6th of this month.
Recently Erika appeared at the opening event for "Closed Note" on Sep.29 and made headlines with her displeasure.
From official site it's only known that she has been in a bad condition, but the real reasons remain unclear.
Her agency also won't say a word about it.
"Her physical condition became questionable. We would like to wait for a judgment from her management, before making further announcements regarding the festival", Toho explains.
The opening week of "Closed Note" has been interrupted with criticism and disappointment.
The websites of Erika and her agency have trouble bearing with all the traffic.
You are also not able to comment on "Closed Note" anymore. It has been disabled to avoid confusion.
Yahoo stats that the actual movie has a "beautiful story" and "splendid performances" by the actors, but all this doesn't matter when people only remember the press event.
Many people are afraid that the movie now suffers a huge image damage.
Stardust reports that this situation is currently being discussed and that there will be an official announcement in the next few days.
